Daffodil - October 2019

We cannot thank Nicky’s Angels enough for helping us with our precious Daffodil. From the moment I first reached out about her breast cancer that needed to be removed I felt like they moved heaven and earth to help us. There was never a “ no we cannot help” feeling. Thanks to Nicky’s Angels she will be around longer and now she is healthy! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts! .

Meikah - September 2019

The Frank Family would like to thank you for your warmth, caring organization. Our fur baby is recovering well, Her Tumors have been removed and her dental work complete. We are so blessed to have your organization and people like you have a caring heart and understanding of financial difficulty. This has taken a large burden off our shoulders with all the other family stuff dealing with. We are at peace and comfort that Meikah is healthy and has been given a second chance because of you. We thank you from the bottom of hearts and paws. Big giant hugs.

Deuteronomy 15:11 King James Version (KJV)
11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

Whiskey - August 2018

I just want to write this letter to thank everyone at Nicky's. It's only because of your assistance that our Whiskey pup was able to pull thru despite all the hardships we as her owners/parents/friends had gone thru. We have had Whiskey and her sister/littermate Bailey for 6 years, during which we as a family, had some of what I can only describe as the best time of our lives. Our two girls were the focus of our lives, as even in our time away from them, they were always considered - picking up treats, new toys, etc.

Sadly that time came to a close. Our Bailey was diagnosed with Lymphoma. We looked into chemo treatments, but as I am sure your aware, they are expensive. My wife and I are not poor but not especially well off either, but there isn't much we won't give up for our pups. We cut everything we could and with further assistance from our vet (Thank you St Francis Animal Care!!) Bailey began treatment. Midway through her treatment, everything came apart - I lost my job ( i am the primary source of income and on the drive home from losing my job, I was run off the road and totaled my vehicle. Money suddenly went from tight to non-existent.

Bailey began a downward slide in health due to our inability to pay for any services, and then the final straw, our other girl Whiskey, began urinating blood - and in no small amount. I sold off some property to get her in to see our vet. We were told our little pup was carrying a massive amount of bladder stones and currently has such a serious bladder infection that she had lost bladder control - if not handled quickly, a slow painful death or euthanasia was the only viable options. We had made peace with the inevitable loss of our Bailey as we knew even chemo was only giving her more time, not a cure but the thought of losing both our girls so quickly was too much. Luckily our vet mentioned Nicky's Angels. She and the other staff of St. Francis worked hard to ensure the proper paperwork was sent and the necessary forms were filled. In less than 48 hours we received word back - our little girl would be able to get her surgery. 72 hours after that St. Francis took Whiskey in for surgery and removed 15 stones, the largest being the size of an egg.

That was a month ago. Whiskey has made a full recovery and has returned to her life of a couch potato and lap dog.
